Deepened Roots Health Coaching

Hello, there! My name is Kara Oelker. I am an intuitive health coach who helps you define what HEALTHY feels and looks like to YOU. Deepened Roots Health Coaching’s MISSION is to solve nutrition misinformation and help you resolve your poor relationship with food and yourself.

We as humans talk trash to ourselves every day, and we stuff ourselves with junk foods to bottle up the feelings we try the hardest not to feel. Which is why Deepened Roots focuses on empowering you to deepen the roots around yourself and your basic physical + emotional + mental + spiritual needs for YOUR optimal health.

Deepened Roots’ approach is different - We cut through the quick fixes and fancy solutions that skip over the ROOT of our issues, and go back to the basics of overall health - what we eat and drink, how much we sleep, how we de-stress, what we do in our down-time, the thoughts we choose to assign to our feelings, how we feel our feelings. To understand and apply the basics, you can then begin assessing the missing pieces of your personalized health puzzle, and use that specific information to hone into your OPTIMAL HEALTH.

The end result is that you will be able to trust yourself more, be able to know what your body + mind + spirit needs, as well as pay attention to when (and decipher why) your body and mind default to self-sabotaging behaviors.

The power is in KNOWING - in finding your INTUITION - so that you can lean into what’s causing you dis-ease and prevent (and in many cases reverse) DISEASE.

Paradigms of Optimal Health

There are FOUR paradigms that hold to be true to your overall health:

1) You are what you think, feel, and eat. Your physical health is the result of how you digest your thoughts and feelings.

2) Assessing when your body is in the state of fight, flight, and freeze versus rest and digest state is crucial. Without getting yourself to that rested state, your body is literally unable to thrive because it's still too busy trying to survive. Looking at your thoughts and feelings you digest, and the actions you default to can help take you to that place where you can thrive.

3) Understanding the basic science behind nutrition is crucial. From there, you can develop your intuition around which foods fuel you.

4) You are at the center of your wellness plan. YOU are. You're the expert of the essence of who you are. Not magazines, direct sales people selling the latest “thing”, or your aunt who’s constantly looking for THE latest “diet”. Then you have doctors, therapists, nutritionists, and health coaches who are the experts in their fields. Choose your support system based on who honors your essence and truth, in the name of life-long health.

Intuitive 90-Day Health Transformation

This program gets you 12 weekly, hour-long, one-on-one health coaching sessions over a course of 90 days, in which you will help you uncover the root of what’s stopping you from living your healthiest life, so that you can take back your personal power and establish habits that SERVE you. Here, we cover it all: gut health, the effects of stress, implementing habits and systems that make your wellness goals stick, nutrition consulting, standing in your truth + building intuition, boundaries.

Services

Nutrition Consulting

Nutrition Consulting is an option for if you're needing nutritional guidance, on a session-by-session basis. You're not wanting to implement health goals - you just want to explore foods to eat that fuel you, nothing else. You can also add single-session nutrition consulting to your existing Intuitive 90-Day Health Transformation program, if you're needing a little extra "TLC".

During these single nutrition consulting sessions, we can cover anything from what makes a balanced meal, the meaning behind nutrition labels, to what meals to make when managing food allergies and intolerances.

I began sessions with Kara at Deepened Roots thinking I would develop a defined "diet" to try and improve my overall nutritional health but instead I came out with much more.
