🔸 The UCP is the WORST government Alberta has ever had. It is proposing fundamental changes to our core institutions that very few people want and that will badly damage our province's future.
🔸 We often hear people refering to it as the PC party. The UCP is not your parents' or your grandparents' PC party. If you or your parents or grandparents are voting for this party because you are PC supporters, this is NOT your party.
🔸 This is also NOT a people’s party. They simply don't care about Albertans. It is the party of the wealthy, of big oil and of Christian conservatives.
🔸 It was very conservative under Kenney. It has been even more conservative under Smith. It will be very, very conservative under the party's new masters, Take Back Alberta.

🔸 Danielle Smith is the WORST Premier Alberta has ever had. A human trainwreck who is making one dumb, tone deaf mistake after another.
🔸 She began her political career as a school board trustee in Calgary. That board was SO TOXIC that the province had to step in and disband it.
🔸Next, she was an MLA and leader of the Wild Rose Party. Despite being a Wild Rose MLA and leader of the party, she crossed the floor and joined the PC government.
🔸 The PCs lost the next election because of her floor crossing and she lost her seat.
🔸 She has spent her time since as a talking head on right wing talk radio and as an apologist for Big Oil.
🔸 The things she has said on the radio, regarding social issues and government are horrifying. They absolutely disqualify her as a credible candidate for Premier.

🔸 The UCP has been taken over by a right wing organization called Take Back Alberta. TBA packed the party's Annual General Meeting and won control of the board.
🔸 TBA was set up by David Parker, a right wing, evangelical Christian and funded by a billionaire from BC.
🔸Parker claims he removed Jason Kenny as UCP leader because of Kenney's Covid measures. Because Kenney had ANY Covid measures.
🔸 In preparation for the election, TBA have been going around the province, taking over constituency boards and nominating their own candidates. Much more right wing candidates than the UCP would have nominated.
🔸 An organization run by an unelected, ultra conservative Christian and funded by a BC billionaire, has TAKEN CONTROL of our province.
🔸 A vote for the UCP is then a WASTED vote. It's a vote for Take Back Alberta and their Christo - Fascist agenda

🔸 David Parker has said that either Smith wins a workable majority in this election or she will be replaced. The polls are predicting a tight election, so Smith could be gone quickly.
🔸 He has also said that either she is sufficiently hardline or she will be replaced. As Kenney was.
🔸 A vote for Smith is then a WASTED vote because Smith could be gone right after the election or on a moment's notice.
🔸 The last 5 Conservative Premiers have left office before completing their term.
🔸 The TBA dominated UCP board will be able to call a leadership vote and remove Smith as leader.
🔸 David Parker has said multiple times that the TBA CONTROLS the Premier and the government.

🔸 Take Back Alberta was started as a way to push back against Covid measures.
🔸 David Parker, its Executive Director, is not running for election, so he will NOT be accountable to the people of Alberta. He is NOT accountable to anyone (literally).
🔸 TBA is funded by Lululemon billionaire, Chip Wilson, who doesn't even live in the province. He BOUGHT the party and now he is trying to BUY our election from BC.
🔸 Parker and Wilson own a FAKE newspaper called the Western Standard. It is writing puff pieces about the UCP and its candidates. By doing this, they are able to skirt advertising restrictions on political parties in Alberta.
🔸 Derek Fildebrandt, the disgraced former MLA, is running the paper. Because of his terrible behavior while an MLA, he was seen as TOO TOXIC for even a Kenney government.

🔸 David Parker is the homeschooled son of an evangelical preacher.
🔸 Parker says his freedoms were stripped away by the Covid measures and but for the Freedom Convoy, he would have LEFT Canada.
🔸 He and the TBA are linked to the Convoy and to the Coutts blockade. TBA's CFO is facing charges regarding Coutts.
🔸 He says that the NDP’s ideas are a toxic and disease ridden ideology.
🔸 At the time of the leadership election, he said he had no preference as to leader. He just wanted someone who could win big in the provincial election. If they didn’t, they would be replaced.
🔸 He says the Premier is like the CEO of a company and the UCP board is the Premier’s boss.
🔸 Unelected David Parker and the TBA control the Premier and the government.

🔸 The TBA took control of the UCP board at the last UCP AGM, in May 2022. By stacking the meeting with their followers and paying fees for followers who couldn't afford to pay.
🔸 A majority of the board members are TBA nominees or support TBA.
🔸 TBA therefore has control of the UCP board and by extension, the party and the province.
🔸 Its unelected Executive Director, David Parker, can choose a leader who fits his ideology and who then becomes premier. That person will be able to choose a cabinet and introduce legislation that suits Parker.
🔸 UCP leaders either do what Parker says or they will be replaced. He's on record saying that repeatedly.

🚫 Public Interest Alberta (PIA) has a list of 350 things (and counting) that the UCP government has done to DAMAGE the province. When time permits, we will scan the list and post a top 10 (or 100). Till then, the link to the list, as well as a few of the biggest boondoggles, are below.
🔸 Oil industry bribe - $ 5 billion was given to the industry immediately after the election in 2019. To repay the people who got the UCP elected. Every other government program was SLASHED to the bone, to do this.
🔸 Pipeline - the UCP bet and lost $ 1.3 billion on the building of the Keystone XL pipeline. Their gamble on Donald Trump failed.
🔸 Tylenol - $ 80 million was spent on grey market Tylenol, to OWN the feds. A dumb political stunt. The meds are a total loss.
🔸 Coal mining - the UCP wanted to allow open pit coal mining in the Rockies. They had to back off when even their farm and ranch base said ABSOLUTELY NOT.
🔸 Parks - the UCP wanted to privatize 140 parks. A PUBLIC FIRESTORM halted that.
🔸 Propaganda - the UCP is spending $ 30 million annually to pump out energy industry and pro UCP propaganda.

🔸 Smith's brief time as Premier has been one dumb misstep after another.
🔸 Her initial response is to deny that she's done anything wrong. This is often followed by a series of clarifications, when the issue won't go away.
🔸 A recent example was her attempt to get the criminal charges against a Coutts blockade defendant dismissed.
🔸 She initially said she hadn't done this and threatened to sue the CBC for disclosing the matter. An ethics investigation has been opened into the matter.
🔸 She is strongly anti vax and promoted the use of hydroxychloroquine and invermectin.
🔸 Smith has made a significant number of statements regarding government policies, including health policies, which are at odds with medical and scientific facts and even reality.
🔸 She has suggested that annual checkups shouldn't be paid for (?!!!).
🔸 That someone with early stage cancer is responsible for having it (?!!!) and that their treatment shouldn't be paid for.

🔸 Members of the UCP caucus have a terrible record of misbehaviour and ethics violations.
🔸 Danielle Smith - as mentioned, she interfered in the prosecution of one of the Coutts defendants.
🔸 Kaycee Madu – while Justice Minister, he called a police chief to have his traffic ticket killed.
🔸 Tyler Shandro – while Health Minister, he went to a doctor's home and harrassed him. The Law Society of Alberta is in the middle of an investigation.
🔸 Devin Dreeshen - while Agriculture Minister, he was suspended from caucus for heavy drinking, including in his office and for harassing female staff.

🔸 A re-elected UCP will inflict terrible damage on Alberta.
🔸 Health care - Smith has CRAZY ideas about health care (see next page). Parker has talked about reorganizing AHS, code for doing away with much or all of it.
🔸Birth control - what options will exist with the homeschooled son of an evangelical preacher in charge? Look at what has happened in the US for your answer.
🔸 Education - public schools will be starved in favour of private schools and homeschooling. Parker was homeschooled.
🔸 Social programs - support programs will be deindexed, underfunded and even defunded.
🔸 Oil & gas - the UCP has promised to give the industry $ 20 billion to clean up well sites. Sites they are already required to clean up at their own cost. More UCP bribery.
🔸 Police - they want to create a provincial police force to OWN the feds. A force few want. Strongly supported by TBA.
🔸 Pensions - they will create a provincial pension plan. More owning of the feds. Strongly supported by TBA.
🔸 Taxes - they will create their own tax department. Strongly supported by the TBA.
🔸 Separation from Canada - will become a daily topic and something to distract their base with. Strongly supported by the TBA.

🔸 Alberta is facing the end of universal health care under a re-elected, TBA controlled UCP.
🔸 Daniel Smith has floated the idea of not paying for some things (annual checkups) and having deductibles for other things (early stage cancer).
🔸 She has suggested that people facing a major health issue pass the hat among relatives and friends and crowfund.
🔸 Ahead of the election, she has said that she will not make these changes to health care. With a tough election looming, what would you expect her to say?
🔸 Not paying for procedures and charging patients deductibles will contravene the Canada Health Act.
🔸 The federal government will then withhold funding from the province, further damaging our health care.
🔸 Feuding with the feds over this issue will become a daily thing and an enormous distraction from everything else that needs to be done.
