About Me
Hi, I'm Maria!
Since I was very little, I've been creative in some way or another. After teaching for over 20 years, I realized that art is my passion and if I'm not making something, I have definitely a project in mind.
I had an 9-5 office job for 8 years that, even though, I am very grateful for it since it allowed me to raised my now 3 grown children, at the end of the day I was exhausted, physically and mentally.
2019 was a very difficult year for me, I went from a major surgery and being without walking properly for 10 months, to a very emotionally year, and the following year I was diagnosed with a chronic pain condition, reason why I got to experienced one of the worst episodes of pain, anxiety and depression I've ever gone through, to the point that prevented me from going back to work on a regular 9-5 job.
During the Pandemic, I decided to practice my calligraphy, and started making projects for my house, I painted some quotes on the walls along with other projects like painting and distressing furniture. The joy that creating brought to my life made me take a leap of faith and I decided to start my new creative journey which I'm enjoying so much because it allows me to work from home, doing what I love the most.
My husband and I live in a suite with 2 bedrooms so I took over of one room and made it my studio, and with the company of our two adorable and mischievous cats, Cesca & Phillips I spend hours in my own little space making my totes, keychains and bookmarks for my clients.
Today, I'm so grateful, and I feel more than blessed of how God has worked all things for my good, and for all the support I've received from my beloved husband, because now I can say that I've found my purpose, and is to encourage, inspire, and empower women through my lettering on any of my creations I've made in my little creative studio.
