CHANGING LIVES ONE HEAD AT A TIME
When you land yourself in the chair of a hairdresser, you are putting your head—and by extension, significant aspects of your life—in the stylist’s hands.
Donovan is a guy you’d do well to trust with your head of hair. Hairstyling is not a job for this man… It is his life’s passion.
“My love for hair is grounded in my desire to make people feel and look better,” says Donovan. “For me, doing hair is an art form. I work with my hands and sculpt in a way that will benefit my clients’ head shape, facial features and lifestyle.”
Growing up in Portland, Oregon under his mother’s tutelage, young Donovan gained a knack for hairdressing at the age of 17. In 2003 he moved to Southern California, kicking off his career in the field as an alumni student at Toni & Guy Academy in Orange Country.
Cutting hair dry is what he does 98% of the time because of the natural effect it has. “My approach is focused on knowing the cowlicks, hair growth patterns and natural fall of the hair. That’s the reason I do dry cuts—to get the natural fall and movement of the hair, and finally the haircut grows out beautifully into the look we want.”
Donovan’s philosophy is unique: He works from the inside out. Not only does he tend to the top of his clients head, he establishes a rapport with people. He feels critical to what he does, getting a sense of his clients, their lifestyles and personalities, which he adapts to the cuts and styles he fashions for their hair.
“It’s all about listening and understanding in what the clients want,” says Donovan, “providing the service in a professional manner to not only make them feel comfortable, look better and most importantly build their confidence, but to have them come back and begin building that relationship through trust and loyalty ... all because of one amazing experience in his chair!”
Humor plays an important part in the process. “I think all my clients know I have a good sense of humor. I try and make them laugh at least once through the visit. I feel it brings a sense of comfort.”

Consultation
A hair consultation is a discussion between you and I before a hair service. It involves assessing your preferences, discussing style options, considering your hair type and face shape, and addressing any concerns or specific requirements. The consultation ensures clear communication between you and I helping to achieve a customized and satisfactory result for your haircut, hair extensions or hairstyling service.
Women’s Haircut & Style
I cut hair to natural fall and cut dry 99% of the time — This technique allows for a more accurate assessment of your texture, movement, and overall behavior of your hair. The approach is more personalized and a precise result based on your hair's dry texture and natural fall… the cut will last up to 6 months or longer depending on your ideal length.
Men’s Haircut & Style
This haircut typically involves cutting and styling hair according to the client's preferences. Various styles exist, such as fades, undercuts, crew cuts, pompadours, and more. The process often includes using clippers, scissors, and styling products to achieve the desired look based on factors like hair type, face shape, and personal style. It's a customizable service tailored to i your preferences and trends.
Wash & Style
This service typically includes shampooing and conditioning the hair, followed by styling based on the your preferences or we both agree on. I will be using styling techniques such as blow-drying, straightening, diffusing or beach waves. This service leaves the hair clean, refreshed, and styled according to your desired look.
Bang Trim or New Bangs
This is a precise cut to maintain the desired length and shape, enhancing your overall hairstyle without a full haircut. This service is ideal for keeping your bangs looking neat and well-groomed between regular haircut appointments.
Tape Extension Placement
Tape extension placement involves attaching adhesive-backed wefts of hair extensions to small sections of your natural hair. This is done by sandwiching a thin section of your own hair between two tape-in extensions. The goal is to achieve a seamless and natural look while ensuring the extensions are secure and comfortable.
Re-Tape Extensions
1. **Remove Old Tape:**
- Carefully remove the tape-in extensions from your hair.
- Use a solution designed to dissolve the adhesive gently, minimizing damage to your natural hair.
2. **Clean Extensions:**
- Clean the old tape residue from the extensions using a mild, alcohol-free adhesive remover.
- Wash and condition the extensions to ensure they're clean and ready for reapplication.
3. Re-Apply to appropriate location of your head.
