As a mother I’m done with seeing school crush my kids curiosity and creativity. Sometimes I wonder if their reports are talking about the same kids.
As a student I’m done with the snobbery of academia. The valuing of certain types of knowledge over others. The market driven agendas of higher education.
As an educator I’m done with the struggle.
As a person who genuinely gives a fuck about people and planet, I’m done with education systems that does not. Education systems that protect and preserve the privileges of a few at the expense of many. Education systems that neither reflect, respect and harness the diversity of our communities.

I was inspired by the book Be More Pirate it’s more than a book, it’s a movement as authors and all round awesome dude Sam urges people to free their inner pirate and get out their an start making good trouble. Edu Pirates is my attempts at sparking some good trouble so we can disrupt and transform the way the world learns.
