Hi! Thanks for visiting. My short story starts a long time ago, but I'm going to start 10 years ago. You should first know that I've struggled with my weight since I was a senior in high school.
I tend to gain weight when I'm happy and in a relationship. Insert my senior year, insert my first marriage, insert my current marriage. I've been married to my best friend for almost 7 years now. I have 5 amazing dogs and 2 cats and live in Tennessee.
About 5 years ago, I started packing on the pounds after learning that I'll never give birth to a child. I let myself go. Food is my comfort and the sweeter, the better. I was eating Little Debbie cakes in the middle of the night. 🤦🏼♀️
As 40 slowly creeps up on me; and after losing my dad at the tender age of 52 to a heart attack, my health started weighing on my mind (no pun intended). I hit 250lbs. I was miserable and knew I had to do something. I kept finding every reason not to start and putting it off to "next Monday". I finally decided to make a change.
Keto was my choice, and it was the right choice for me. In August of 2020, after my 6th anniversary trip, I started strict keto. I also found ketones when I decided to make a change and decided to try them - after my anniversary trip.. I've taken prescription diet pills in the past and had tried again but they just weren't working and I honestly didn't like how they made me feel. I ordered two trial packs of ketones to try and was hooked.
I used up the two trial packs I had, I felt amazing, I wasn't hungry all the time, I was finding more patience in myself, I wasn't tired throughout the day at all and I was in such a good mood! I did lots of research, watched a lot of videos and jumped in. I learn from experience and this experience had been my best yet!
After 3 months I swapped to a more low carb diet but continued the ketones. After 7 months of cutting sugar, cutting carbs, cutting soda (I was a wake up and pop a top girl), cooking low carb meals, incorporating intermittent fasting, drinking ketones daily and rebooting monthly, I am down 70 lbs and maintaining!
This was my goal. I have been maintaining for a month now, but I'm not stopping! I continue to intermittent fast daily, I drink ketones daily, I reboot monthly, and I eat low(er) carb.
My next goal is to start working out regularly and to firm up! When "they" say that you have to make a lifestyle change, not a diet, whoever "they" are, they're right!
The keto diet isn't for everyone, but if you'd like to give it a try, I'd love to coach you and help you out! I was extremely confused and overwhelmed when I started. I've gathered all the information I've learned, recipes, tips and tricks and more, and started my own Facebook support group to help other people like me achieve their goals.
I'm having fun, making new friends and bettering myself and others, all at the same time. Are you ready to start your journey?
