“Wellness is the complete integration of body, mind, and spirit.”

“ A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step.” -Lao-tzu

I’ve always considered myself healthy and fit. Yes, even when I put on weight over the years, mentally it was just a temporary thing I needed to fix. I thought I was doing alright. It wasn’t a big deal…until it was.

So many of us look at losing weight as a quick fix temporary action. Often times, we look to lose 10-15lbs for vacation, an event or even to fit into a tux or wedding dress. Some of us want to lose more but we doubt ourselves. We doubt we will be able to stick with it. When you approach your health goals with this mindset you may lose the weight, but it’s not sustainable. What if you tried something different? I did.

I started looking at my weight loss as a lifestyle change. I knew that once I lost the weight I didn’t want it to creep back on a year or two later. I worked on my mind first. While I was feeding my mentality about discipline and consistency, I started to put what I was learning into action. Was it easy? Absolutely not. But I felt better knowing I was in it for the long haul and I was tired of starting from the beginning every other year or every 6 months. If you’re here, you’re probably tired too.

I know now that the journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step. My goal on this journey is to walk beside you in yours and show you that with discipline, consistency and a bit of hard work you will get there. Remember, anything worthwhile is worth fighting for.

You’re worth it.
