About Me
Getting to know me
My name is Yvette & I am a small business owner. I never thought I would ever say or write this sentence in my life since I went through the traditional route of K-12, undergrad, and graduate level education to pursue a career as a school psychologist. Working as a school psychologist has its challenges and stress factors, but it’s a really rewarding career that allows me to help students with disabilities. However, the overwhelming amount of evaluations, report writing, meetings, and staff collaborations puts me in a “working behind the scenes” framework.
Fast forward to this pandemic, I felt stuck and realized I needed a change to help me fulfill my life’s purpose in a more direct way. My purpose has always been to help others in need; giving a voice to the voiceless. For this reason, I decided to create my online business (Equity Toolbox) to be able to provide parents and educators with the needed tools to assist children manage difficult emotions and identify/fulfill unmet needs. These tools are what I have used in my field & have recommended to educators to implement. Now, these tools are available to everyone and I’m excited to continue pursuing this journey.
