Knowing the history of the world competition of wines and spirits tasted by Women in Paris

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝗪𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝗪𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭?

Ears of experience as a wine competition organizer have enabled Didier Martin, the founder, to observe and believe in the power and importance of women in the development of the sector. So he decided to create Feminalise, the first world wine contest exclusively tasted by women 16 years ago.
For information, why women? Women have taken a very important place in the world some wine. In countries that consume large amounts of wine (France, Germany, USA, etc.), more than 70% of women buy wine for their household. And in the family continuity, Maxime Martin the Son takes over the company.

Promoting women in the wine/spirits industry.

All producers, Wine-growers, wine-harvesters, Cooperative wine cellars, Groups of cooperative wine cellars, Groups of producers, Producer/wine-traders, Wine-maker traders, merchants, Importers from all over the world can register. Each wine/sake/spirits must conform to the Community regulations in European Union and the regulations in force in the country of origin.

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐱𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲?

What do you suggest at the time of training? This year’s edition, more than 5240 wines were tasted from 11 different countries by around 700 women tasters from all over the world. ¾ of our tasters are professionals in wine industry.

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐭? 𝐄𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚.

Feminalise has a unique concept and optimal tasting conditions:
• Tasters are selected from the wine industry based on their ability to taste and evaluate wines.
• All wines are tasted blind, served by the glass, at the appropriate temperature by qualified waiters.
• Each wine is tasted by 3 women seated at separate tables. Influence between tasters is not possible.
• Each wine is evaluated following a tasting sheet with 39 control points
• In case of defective wine, a replacement bottle at the appropriate temperature will be served to the tasters.
• We are extremely careful with the tasting order of the entrees to guarantee the best results.

𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐮𝐬 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐬𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞?

This year 1621 different producers from 11 countries registered, 1720 wines were rewarded : 1319 gold medals and 401 silver medals.

𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲, 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐨𝐛𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧?

This is a blind and qualitative tasting contest, so a wine sold at a very low price can wine a gold medal such as a prestigious wine. All wines/sake/spirtis have their chance.
Every year the number of registered samples increases. But, for example, we have more samples from Japan and Eastern European countries, and in France, some regions such as Champagne, Aquitaine, Loire.
