I live and breath food and travel ✈️ I have been fortunate enough to travel across Australia, South-East Asia, Europe and the USA 🌏 I love sharing my favourite food finds mainly in Sydney but also throughout my travels ⛩

My ultimate happy place is enjoying good food and drinks with my close family and friends 👯‍♀️ Anything from eating smashed avo, a bowl of home cooked pho, sushi to drinking a mojito 🍹 Let’s face it, food is is my love language!

When Japan meets Korea

Neon lights, fried chicken and cocktails in the heart of Surry Hills

Asian fusion has definitely established itself in the Sydney food scene but this is first I’ve seen a restaurant combining the street food and barbecue style eats from Japan and Korea 🇯🇵🇰🇷

You’ll be able to spot the pink neon lights glowing from the window and inside the walls are covered in black and white comic murals. The Japanese x Korean fusion restaurant has a bar pumping out some refreshing cocktails and beverages and funky booths to perfectly accommodate any party size 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

The ala carte menu is a great option if there’s some specific menu items you want to order however Tokki also offers a set menu (vegetarian optional available). This includes some fan favourite dishes if you are feeling a little indecisive and want to place your trust in the hands of the experts 🥢

🍸 Mademoiselle - Lychee liqueur, raspberry, prosecco, lime, lychee -$16

This cocktail is the perfect combination of sweet and refreshing. Watch out because it is that easy to drink and before you know it you’ll be wanting to order round 2.

🌽 BBQ Corn - $16
The bbq corn is dressed with yuzu and yoghurt making it an absolute flavour bomb. Perfectly charred with a savoury and cheesy kick.

🌷 Zucchini Flower Tempura - $16
These generously sized zucchini flowers is filled with a creamy 3 cheese filling and coated in a light crispy batter.

🍞 Bao Selection - $9 each
Pictured is the pork belly, prawn katsu and veggie baos. Delicious fluffy buns flavour packed meats, vegetables and sauce! Unfortunately these aren’t on the currently menu however you can still score yourself a KFC bao!

🍗 Original Fried Chicken - $28
Juicy and krispy fried chicken coated in Tokki’s secret KFC seasoning. There’s also the option to add the chilli and soy sauce which I would recommend as they compliment the chicken so well.

🦴 Angus Short Rib - $38
Succulent ribs covered in sweet galbi, korean chimichurri! This dish is worth getting your fingers dirty for. Placed on a bed of chips the meat easily falls off the bone and melts in your mouth.
