Mental health care should be accessible to everyone, especially BIPOC and Latinx folks whose mental health must withstand daily stressors AND bear the weight of one or more systems of oppression. If you are Black, Indignous, AAPI, or Latinx and you cannot afford mental health services or treatments, then these resources may enable you to receive the care that you deserve.

WUPD investigates instances of sexual and relationship violence and provides survivors with free transportation to hospitals that provide Sexual Assault Forensic Exams.

At the Habif Health & Wellness Center, student survivors can:
→ Ask a staff member to contact the YMCA Sexual Assault Response Team (SART)*
→ Receive a physical evaluation and medications for certain STIs and pregnancy (FREE)
→ Purchase emergency contraceptives from Quadrangle pharmacy
→ Receive a mental health assessment**

*A SART volunteer supports a survivor as he/she/they undergoes a sexual assault forensic exam at a hospital
**Note that counselors at the RSVP Center are available 24/7 to provide trauma-informed support to survivors
Sexual Assault Forensic Exams
• Exam can transpire ≤ 120 hours post-assault, but DNA evidence must be collected within 24-72 hours
• You’re discouraged from using the toilet, changing clothes, or grooming yourself prior to the exam
• You can still get an exam if you have changed clothes, groomed yourself, or used the toilet
• You’re encouraged to preserve bedsheets, perpetrator’s clothing, and other available evidence in paper bags
• Reporting to the police is OPTIONAL unless you are < 18 years old
