WELCOME

I am here to coach you to work with your body instead of against it, so you can feel confident inside AND outside the gym!

Fuelled Movement is centred around the belief that education and empowerment fuel success.

No quick fixes - only the pursuit of real and sustainable change. I value your investment in yourself and trust in me, so my mission is to coach you to develop technique, mindset and behaviours that empower you for life! ❤️‍🔥

the face fuelling the movement

my story

Starting off as a reasonably uncoordinated kid, it was my competitive spirit that led to my first involvement in sport during primary school.

I continued on to find my feet, dabbling in a range of sports to become a determined all-rounder. This established my value of finding joy through movement.

It was during my final years of high school when I really took advantage of exercise as a tool to keep my mental health in check and set me up for the day. Each morning was an opportunity to get out of my own head, slow down and centre myself. To feel strong, care for my body, and celebrate what I was capable of.

Passion for exercise = activated.

As a certified personal trainer, currently studying exercise physiology, my appreciation of how incredible the human body is has only strengthened.

Through my own experience, transitioning from an eager, slightly nervous gym-newbie to learning the science-grounded principles of training, I am here to provide you a base of support so you can focus on feeling and performing your best.

success stories

what’s it like to be part of the fuelled movement?

Kristine

“I had been putting it off - I struggled finding consistency/routine, motivation, slow progress and getting back on with training again.

I am proud of improving techniques with the exercises, building more self confidence, improved mindset and even enjoying fitness a bit more.

By working on the weaknesses, improving more on strengths, sharing your knowledge with me and being motivating. Also by taking time to prepare myself and queuing techniques and steps before I perform an exercise. Being more ‘mindful’ resonated most as this is what also helped with getting the most benefits in training.

My strength has improved not only physically but also mentally.”

Anna

“My mindset has definitely improved since Zuriah has trained me and also my understanding how to develop a routine that works for me without burning out.

Physically I’ve noticed that my body has gotten a lot stronger since we trained together. Mentally I don’t have as many inhibitions about heading to the gym anymore.

I think the one thing that was holding me back was my mindset that if I exercised I had to go all or nothing. I don’t feel that way about exercise anymore! Now it’s about listening to my body and moving it as much as I can everyday :)

You were super kind and the way you described how the exercises we were doing would help improve my health really stuck with me.”

Shristi

“Prior, I was struggling to get motivated and to stay active. For me to stay productive I had to be active, this was my first step.

I am most proud of feeling challenged and pushing myself to tackle the challenges.”

Daisy

“I am more confident in doing exercise correctly without injuring myself and I feel stronger and healthier than before. Your exercise plan is perfect in helping me to build up my strength gradually.

Since working together, I enjoy going to gym and train on my own because it takes my mind off from all the stress. And I always look forward to our face to face session as well!”

Nicole

“Before training together I just felt as if I wasn't strong enough and I felt unmotivated so I needed something to make me feel more motivated. I've gotten stronger and feel happier that there is something that has me motivated to go outside and exercise.

I thought I'd get a lot of weird stares at the start if I'm a beginner but now I see a lot of people which are beginners and I don't mind. Your coaching helped me correct my form during exercises and know how to do a lot of exercises.

I'm most proud of how I've built strength with you and gained confidence in the gym.”

Tahlia

“I’ve gained muscle and understanding of how to complete lifts successfully. Mentally, I feel reassured on off days or when issues arise and over coming them, as well as a boost in confidence.

Thank you for breaking down the movements and slowly building up. Pushing me weights and rep wise but also knowing when not to.

I’m most excited to keep pushing on my dead lifts and squats.”

Yue

“I’ve learned the skills to connect mind with muscle, the correct posture of full body exercise, also learned to use more equipment.

You‘ve taught me to train efficiently, with proper tempo, using language that is easy to comprehend and remember.

So far, I’ve lost 5kg and became more fit in general health, became more energetic and stronger.

I see myself becoming more fit and full of energy at all times, enjoying healthier lifestyle & food.”

These are reminders that health and performance extends beyond how we are fuelling and moving our bodies ✨

I highly recommend.

Smiling Mind: Meditation app 🧠 ✨ (my August/all-time rec)

A (free!) prevention-focussed mental health tool developed by Aussie psychologists and educators!

If you think meditation isn’t for you, think again… I truly love this app.

They have meditation, mindfulness and mental fitness programs designed to build resilience, support good sleep, study and sports training; reduce stress and improve relationships; and promote the development of new social and emotional skills.

For any time, anywhere & everyone.

Everyone should know how to cook good* food

I believe cooking is such an underrated skill when it comes to becoming healthier.

* Not necessarily good as in good vs bad, but good as in gooood (🤤)

** ‘Healthy’ is often used in a subjective sense, this is typically shaped by one’s knowledge, values and goals - analyse your own (and seek professional guidance where necessary) before taking someone else’s (online) word as gospel x

📖 (05/23) Behave by Robert Sapolsky

If I had to pick one human quality I believe is the most essential, it would be curiosity - it invites empathy, ignites a desire to continuously learn, and is grounded in an open-mindedness I believe is pertinent to being a good human. This book feeds into that.

A copy was generously shared with me by @denis_sovacki - a coach and leader who I respect dearly.

This book is an exploration into why we think, act and interact the way we do. The good and the bad. An epic inquiry from biochemical to evolutionary levels.
