I’m a mama to a gorgeous little girl and wife to my best friend!
I always dreamt of being a stay at home mom! However, life in my 20’s did not take me there. I went to school, got into the dental field and like Rihanna says I worked, worked, worked, worked, worked!
After 4 years, when I was 23 we got married and we knew we wanted to enjoy each other as a married couple prior to having children. So, we worked, did some traveling and spent as much time together as possible!
Over the years, although we both had full-time jobs and at some points two jobs, we still had a hard time making ends meet!
If you’ve ever lived in California, then you know exactly what I am talking about! We basically worked to pay rent and the bills and most times didn’t have much, if anything at all left over.
Then in 2017 I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, a condition that causes wide spread chronic pain, along with anxiety and depression. This ultimately left me without a job and times were tough, to say the least. During all this my husband and I experienced homelessness and lived out of our minivan for over a year. This was a very humbling experience and I can now say that I do NOT regret going through that, as it made me grow as a person and I wouldn’t be who I am today without having to go through those tough times!
We were able to get back on our feet, I got a new job and we stayed with some friends (thank God for good friends). Then God blessed us yet again and at 32 I was pregnant! While I was 7 months pregnant my husband and I packed up our things and with nothing but good faith and an open road we moved to Nevada, where we reside now!
I knew once I became pregnant I wanted to be nothing more than a full-time mama! I cringed at the thought of having to leave my new baby to go back to work. I knew that being a working mom was just NOT for me. I wanted to be the one to raise my baby and to be able to cherish all of her precious moments!
But then reality hit me and I knew I still needed to bring in some sort of income, otherwise, we would still be struggling!
How was I going to do this!? I felt hopeless. I constantly prayed for God to bring me an opportunity, a solution for my family.
I saw a mom of 3 saying how she supported her family through a social media based business, and although I wasn’t quite sure what I was getting myself into, I decided to jumped in! She helped me and I worked hard.
I have since been able to earn bonuses, earn an extra income and I am on my way to a promotion!
Through this I am able to be a stay at home mom- which is still really hard (shoutout to all the #sahm)!! BUT I would pick this hard over and over again if it means being with my baby girl the way I desired!
Today I can help my husband provide for my family with my baby on my hip, and I mentor others to be able to do the same!
