About Golden Oak Mommy

Hey GO fam! I’m Patricia, and guess what? I don’t live in Golden Oak (but I will!), and I’m not a [human] mom (yet!)... So you might be asking, “why is your handle Golden Oak Mommy?” Well, TBH, my hubby came up with the name and told me to claim the handle for our #futuregoalz, but why not celebrate the journey to achieving those goals? And inspire people along the way?

So here’s the plan fam: my husband and I want to be Golden Oak-living by 2030.

Backstory: We’re major Disney fans, have a cat named Lance Strongclaw (watch Tangled: The Series if you don’t know — 100% recommend), and we currently live and work remotely in Georgia, where we’re building a house that will most definitely have some ~magical~ touches (want some Disney office inspo? I gotcha!) But longterm, we plan to expand our family in the next few years, have been discussing becoming DVC members (hubby’s fam already is, so we frequent all the resorts!), and have recently set a goal to take it a step further and make the ultimate Disney move. Because we figure if you live year-round in the most magical place on earth, then you can travel to other magical places and get the best of both worlds!

Golden Oak Mommy will feature a variety of content, posts, recommendations, tips, and more on topics ranging from Disney, lifestyle, and travel to (down the line) pregnancy, being a new mom, and living life as a Disney fam.

And while I’m all about Disney and telling stories (full-time journo here!), my husband is a CPA and financial planner who is my partner-in-life but also totally dedicated to the ~very important~ financial aspect of achieving these ~very expensive~ dreams. So we’ll also feature financial content, tips, and more on affording it all. Disney ain’t cheap, y’all! (Spoiler alert: you can still do it!)
