Shahaadah believes that an artist’s role is vital because “art is your expression on the times that are happening. You are capturing history and giving those lessons to the next generation”. Her work advocates the importance of being aware of ones spirit. She reminds her viewers of their power;the power in knowing oneself in order to break away from any energies that try to oppress ones mind , body , and spirit. Ultimately, Shahaadah creates to uplift Black and Brown folks.
