Frequently asked questions ?¿

How is your pricing?

Pricing varies from person to person and what needs to be done to get to your goal! You can find my pricing on the second page of this website, I try to give my best estimate but I really won’t know until I get my hands in there and go to work!

What shampoo & conditioner should I be using?

Another great question that depends on all different hair types and if you color or not! The truth is you should have multiple shampoos in the shower, if you have colored hair use a color safe, if you’re a blondie you should have a purple shampoo, if you have curly hair you need something with moisture or maybe you need all three! When it comes to conditioner something with moisture works best for everyone. If you aren’t sure just ask your stylist! We’re happy to point you in the right direction. Also don’t cheap out and buy the drug store stuff, you paid good money for your hair to look a curtain way so keep it that way! There are so many different price points out there so if you’re on a budget we can get you on the right track. My all time favorite is Paul Mitchell lavender mint which is super moisturizing but remember this may not be for everyone. If you aren’t sure by a travel size, that way you aren’t breaking the bank $$

How often should I wash my hair?

I get this question A LOT! I’m sure you have heard the every other day rule, which yes, that is true. It’s better for your natural hair oils to take over and moisturize naturally than washing your hair everyday and making it bone dry. I know oily hair isn’t a favorite but that’s why dry shampoos really help soak up some of those oils and make it look less dirty. They make dry shampoos for blondes and brunettes so for you brunettes you don’t end up with that skunk streak. You can find some of my favorite dry shampoos on my top product picks page!

How often do I need a haircut?

Haircut can be a scary word for some people. There is nothing to be scared of, it’s just apart of maintenance. Normally I tell people every 3-5 months you need your ends cleaned up if you have healthy hair. If your hair has a lot of damage we may need to take more off or you can come in every month to get your ends cut and keep the length, whatever you’re comfortable with. And yes a haircut is the same as a trim, you’re not only paying for the amount you cut but the blow dry & style too!

I want to be blonde but I have been box coloring for years, what should I do?

This one is tough, box color has ammonia, metallic salts, peroxide, resorcinol, PPD and is super unpredictable. Usually if someone has had box color in their hair a test strand would be best to see how its going to lift, then you can formulate accordingly. Going blonde from box dye or even dark hair in general can be a journey, usually multiple sessions and can get expensive so make sure you are ready to take on the challenge! I also get asked how many sessions this will take, your guess is as good as mine. Some people will take one or two, others might take a whole year. Everyone is different! And ALWAYS tell your stylist about any box or Sally’s color you put in your hair, we don’t want to end up with any surprises!

Which hot tools should I get? And what temperature should I keep them at?

I LOVE this question! Styling tools are what give us that smooth sleek look to textured volume!! Everyone loves a sexy beach wave which can be done multiple ways, you can use a clamp curling iron, you can use a wand curling iron or even your flat iron. Whatever works best for you! It requires some practice & patiences maybe even a couple youtube videos to show technique. Whatever you use, I recommend 1 1/4 inch barrel to get the job done.
Ceramic flat irons are best for even heat distribution, don't create cold or overheated spots, minimizing the hair damage. Also, ceramic helps to eliminate frizz and makes heating plates smoother, so they're less likely to pull hair.
Curly girls! You should use a diffuser or just let it dry au naturel!
Another favorite out there right now is the round brush blow dryer! You can use this on damp hair and create a smooth volumized look. Works great for all hair types!
And please please please! If you are using a hot tool, keep your heat setting around 300-350 degrees, you don’t need your iron set on the highest setting! And thermal spray is a must!!

Top product picks

My top recommendations for you

Milkshake silver shampoo & Bumble and Bumble sold at Hairitage. Other products you can find at Ulta.

Design me - Dry shampoo

Obsessed with is brand!! Soaks up oily hair extremely well, they make one for blondes and brunettes. If you’re not sure try a travel size but I’m sure you’ll love it ;)

Paul Mitchell Lavender Mint

My all time FAVORITE shampoo & conditioner (especially conditioner) makes your hair silky & soft, has tons of moisture for dry hair and meant for all hair types, I LOVE it!

Bb Dryspun Texture Spray

If you have flat hair and need some volume this is your new fav product. Acts like a dry shampoo but without the white powder so you can use on any hair color! Spray on dry hair at the root and all over head to get texture/volume. I like to use it after I curl my hair

Hairdesser’s oil primer

The bb primer is great because it has a heat and uv protector build in so you dont have to buy a million different products. I use this before I brush my hair to help detangle, it has a creamy consistency, smells good and good for you hair no matter what you do with it. Everyone should use one even if you dont do much with your hair, hair always needs some type of moisture to keep it healthy and strong

Bb Gel

Best styling product I've used to help hold my style all day. I use about a dime-nickle size all over head on damp hair and you have to blow dry it in for best results. Has a flexible, soft hold w/o being sticky or wet looking.

Kenra hairspray

My favorite hairspray! Nozzle never clogs, holds great w/o weighing down hair, workable hold.

Milk shake silver shampoo

The best silver shampoo, hands down! Best for blondes who want to keep those brassy tones OUT! I use mine about once or twice a week, best after you get a fresh color to maintain color.

Brilliantine

Brilliantine is great for fizzy and staticky hair, a little goes a long way. About a pea to dime size drop to eliminate all static and calm frizzy hair!

Bb Curl Cream

Curly Girls!! my curly clients love this creme, helps define curls and smooth frizz, about a nickle to quarter size is all that's needed, best put in damp hair and either diffuse or let hair air dry for best results!

Brass Off Matrix Shampoo

If you are a brunette and HATE brass/orange hair then this is for you! Use once or twice a week to eliminate brass and bring you back to the cool side

Great Body Blow Out Cream

Hands down best volume blow out cream I’ve tried! If you love volume and need some lift, give this a try.

Grande Lash

Promotes the appearance of naturally longer, thicker looking lashes. I’ve been using this for a couple months & I have noticed a HUGE change in my eyelashes
