Extrovert, rabble-rouser & lover of learning
Sage Helena Hooten
I am a current fourth-year at the University of Georgia from Savannah, GA. I am majoring in Genetics and minoring in Spanish. I enjoy singing & using my imagination. As an extrovert, I’d much rather be talking to you than having you read this. I am an avid hugger, & a big proponent of both historic preservation and social justice.
It has been important for me to explore my wide array of interests as to mold myself into a well-rounded individual. With this in mind, after a history of working in a house museum in high school, I was hired at the Athens Welcome Center in April 2019. I developed the “Athens Eerie Evenings” tour for October 2019. I also work at the Information Desk & help visitors feel welcomed to the Classic City.
In May 2020, I will study abroad in Seville to finish my minor and in hopes of becoming fluent in Spanish. I hope to get my Master’s in Genetic Counseling. The field combines two of my favorite things: funky genetics and being a people person.
That being said, I would be an asset to you because I have emotional intelligence that is only matched with my knowledge of genetics. This would make me an incredible liaison between medical personnel and patients.
