We are a Non-governmental Organization, Helping Underprivileged Groups or HUG for short. We strive to help those that are less fortunate, though our feeding scheme as well as community-based projects and activities.
When I was younger, my mom and a few of her friends started HUG and I'd always help out with their fundraising high teas and various service projects. Unfortunately they had to stop HUG after a few years.
In high school, I joined Interact and found my love and passion for service again - mainly through running our winter soup kitchen. During the lockdown in 2020, my family and I continued to make soup for our local Haven Night Shelter and I asked my mom if I could restart HUG again as a way to continue serving others and to allow others to get involved aswell.
