7,767 km non-stop relay from Scotland to Egypt to deliver a message on climate action to the world’s leaders at COP27! 🌍
Running Out of Time is the longest non-stop relay ever attempted.
Last year we set off from COP26 host city Glasgow to deliver an important message on climate action to world leaders. The message was sealed in the baton and passed person to person as the relay journeyed through 18 countries - UK (Scotland, Wales, England), France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, Greece, Cyprus, Israel, Egypt - arriving at Sharm el-Sheikh on November 6th 2022 in time for COP27.
Along the extraordinary route, the baton crossed seas, mountain ranges, glaciers, and deserts and visited schools, at-risk locations and climate change projects meeting scientists, engineers and community leaders at the forefront of the green revolution to better understand what is happening to our planet and to inspire local climate action.
