About

Hello!

I'm Cyann, a multi-disciplinary artist, although I'm most well known as a jagua tattoo artist. Aside from jagua, I also do other artsy things, through traditional art mediums (oil and watercolour painting) as well as modern techniques like graphic design and 3D rendering. I also used to be a professional calligrapher!

What is Jagua?

Jagua ink is a natural dye derived from Jagua fruit (Genipa Americana). It originates from Central and South America, and is used for many purposes by indigenous people, especially for body adornment and its medicinal qualities. Cyann's Jagua gel is made from scratch using the highest quality ingredients, directly imported from South America, so you can be sure that there are no harmful chemicals or impurities that will come in contact with your skin. When applied to the skin, the gel deposits a blue-black stain on your skin lasts 2-3 weeks.

*As my Jagua ink formula contains concentrated fruit substances and essential oils, I would highly recommend booking a patch test if you have a history of allergy to any fruit, or essential oils.

Jagua Aftercare

How to make your tattoo last longer!

1. Leave the ink on your skin for a minimum of 3 hours, up to 6 hours, as recommended by your artist. The longer the ink is on your skin, the darker the tattoo will stain, but DO NOT SLEEP before washing it off! The lines will become thicker if left on for too long.

2. Wash the ink off completely under running water after leaving it on your skin for 3 to 6 hours.

3. Initially, the stain may look very light or invisible. Do not panic! It will darken in the next 24 to 46 hours.

5. No sunblock or moisturizer over your skin for the next 2 days!

6. Avoid exfoliating or exposing the tattooed area to water in the next 2 weeks to help it last longer! When showering, be gentle!

---

Notes:

If you accidentally got the ink wet or perspired, and you see that the ink has dissolved, wash the tattoo off as soon as you can to prevent the stain from turning out smudgey, or the lines from bleeding.

Do not leave your ink on overnight unless your artist has recommended you to.

You deserve to feel beautiful.

Are you able to draw this design?

Yes, I can draw anything you dream of having! (: if you're unsure of your design, feel free to drop me a message and I can advise you on the design!

What is the price of my tattoo?

Prices vary depending several factors such as: size, placement and intricacy of the designs. If you'd like a price quote, fill in the booking request and ask me! I'll be happy to give you an estimate of how much your dream tattoo would cost.

How long will the stain last?

Jagua typically lasts for 2 to 3 weeks, although this varies from person to person (and how fast your skin renews itself). There are things you can do to help it last longer, and I'll always brief you on the best aftercare methods after your appointment! Body parts that are more frequently exposed to water may also fade faster (e.g. hands and fingers).

What should I prepare before coming for my appointment?

It's best to wear clothing that will not cover the area you want tattooed, because you're going to have to leave the gel on for a few hours after your appointment!

Do you take housecalls?

Yes, I do house calls at an additional surcharge. Feel free to contact me and ask about it!

Are you available for events?

Yes! Drop me an email at heycyann@gmail.com with information about your event, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Do include relevant details such as the number of people attending the events, date and time of event, and what services you're expecting at the event (e.g. Flash sheets or custom designs for guests)

How do I know if I may be allergic to jagua?

Jagua contains concentrated fruit juice, and essential oils. If you have a history of allergy to these ingredients or sensitive skin, you may choose to book a free patch test before making a booking.

Do note that I make my own jagua ink, so your skin's reaction to one artist's ink may differ from another's.

What's your cancellation policy?

Once the deposit is made, your appointment is confirmed. If you are unable to make it for your appointment, do inform me at least 48 hours in advance to reschedule for free. For last minute reschedules, the deposit will be forfeited!

Please be on time for your appointment. Deposit will be forfeited after a 15 minute grace period.

Where are you located?

My studio is at Chinatown! (: a short 2-3 minute walk from the MRT station.
