Cleopatra Hunter Zuli (Hunter) is the founder of BLK PALATE, an inclusive food & wellness production company; the owner and operator of WICHY, a mobile sandwich shop inspired by street food and home cooking around the world; and the co-founder and brand manager of Looks By Lo, an inclusive beauty, grooming, and personal care brand. When she’s not being a business boi or cooking, Zuli writes, public speaks, and works as a consultant.
Zuli’s work, words, events, and recipes have been featured by The New York Times, Bon Appétit magazine, Healthyish, Adweek, OUT magazine, Food Book Fair, Great Jones, MADE Hotels, and more. Her businesses have collaborated with, and served, clients such as VICE, Anomaly, Coco and Breezy, Lululemon, and others.
Before food became her full focus, Hunter spent 14 years of working towards leadership positions in learning & development, event production, fundraising, and corporate social responsibility, working with brands like Facebook, Coach, American Express, AT&T, NARS Cosmetics, Benefit Cosmetics, Pandora media, and more. During this time, she organized over 15 small and large scale events and conferences around New York City, each welcoming 30-200+ guests, hosted at venues like Hearst Towers and AOL.
The 2012 winner of the $10K Isaac C. Knock Social Justice Award, Hunter has taught and counseled thousands of youth and adults, in various areas, most recently as a trainer, curriculum developer, inclusion & belonging coach, social emotional learning consultant.
Zuli is based in Brooklyn, NY and welcomes domestic and international clients and collaborators.
