Having been raised in a traditional Vietnamese family, I know first-hand what it means to be in the minority. As the only daughter growing up in a patriarchal household and among a toxic group of girl ‘friends’, my thoughts, feelings and desires were often devalued and my confidence undermined. I responded by embarking on a journey of self-discovery and transformation, growing determined to live in a way that uplifts other women at every opportunity, rather than cutting them down. Entering business only served to intensify my drive to empower other women, when I quickly recognised the gender bias that still exists in the corporate world.
