Welcome! I’m Connie! Here's a little bit about me, who I am and why I'm passionate about clean products we consume both inside and out:

I’m a competitive ice dancer at the Senior level and am also a skating coach, working with students of all ages and levels. It is seriously never too late to start skating! I have taught many adults.

I grew up and currently reside in a small town in Michigan and received my bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan. I had always dreamed of becoming a veterinarian because of my love of animals. In the end though, I decided it wasn’t for me and found just as much satisfaction helping animals through volunteering at a vegan animal rescue farm and went to coaching instead. I also have a Flat Coated Retriever named Agate who is a therapy dog.

My story with clean beauty began in December 2021. I was diagnosed with Melanoma skin cancer which is the deadliest of the skin cancers. It was a frightening time even though I was diagnosed early and the prognosis was good. But it was a wake up call that I needed a good sunscreen that I would WANT to apply. I had started to educate myself on ingredient safety and the benefits of mineral vs chemical sunscreen so I wouldn't have to do this all over again with a different form of cancer. In my research about cancers and personal care ingredients, I connected with a fellow skating coach over IG who is a cancer mama. She introduced me to Beautycounter, I tried their sunscreen as well as a couple other products and loved it! I got hooked on literally EVERYTHING! The sunscreen, the makeup, the skincare, the deodorant, the body care.... EVERYTHING! But most importantly, the mission and the advocacy. Deciding to become a consultant was only a natural progression. Really though, who could say no to an amazing discount while also sharing the products you love, help others switch to clean and make some extra money???

What truly sets Beautycounter apart over other clean brands though is their advocacy. They are the only clean brand out there who is actively advocating to Congress for stricter, better beauty laws. Did you know there has not been a major federal law passed since 1938 in the personal care industry?!? This is absolutely mind blowing to me considering all the technical advances and research! Beautycounter bans 2,800+ questionable ingredients in their formulas that have links to health issues. The US only requires companies to ban 30 ingredients. Beautycounter is so more than just a clean beauty company. It's the work they are doing towards the greater good. For the safety of us all and our children. Because they care about our health and the environment being a certified B Corp and Leaping Bunny. There is so much junk in our products. So many toxic chemicals. This needs to change and we the consumers CAN change it with how we spend our dollars!

However, as much as Beautycounter has meant to me, my Beautycounter business was unfortunately put on a temporary hold in mid April when the company went bankrupt and while our CEO Gregg Renfrew is buying the rights and LLC to bring Beautycounter back, it is going to take some time. So with a void in my life, I found Arbonne through another Beautycounter advocate I follow on IG, decided to try some products and absolutely love them! What I love about Arbonne that Beautycounter didn't have is their Wellness line! Being an athlete and into supporting a healthy body and mind, these products are exactly what I need. So far my favorite products are the Green Synergy Elixir (a greens, collagen builder and pre/probiotics powder all in one which still tastes yummy!) and the Energy Fizz because it only contains 55 mg caffeine but is the perfect pick me up and tastes amazing! I also love the teas too! I'm such a tea girl! Arbonne is a natural fit for me because like Beautycounter, they are also a Certified B corp and have a Not Allowed List of over 2,000 ingredients. An added perk is their products are all vegan!
