OUR SERVICES
TIMBER INSTALLATION
When it comes to selecting the flooring during building or renovation, a timber floor is often recommended as the best choice for many reasons. A timber floor transforms a house into a home with its naturally warm vibe; additionally, timber floors, especially Australian hardwood timber flooring, offer a huge range, as well as a broad choice of coloursIf customers, can’t find it, it doesn’t exist. Clearly list and describe the services you offer. Also, be sure to showcase a premium service.
FLOORING RESTORATION
Having timber floors will add beauty and equity to any loft, provided they are properly taken care of. Without regular maintenance timber floors can easily lose their original lustre and become lifeless and dull. We have been providing a quality service matches the Australian Timber Floor Association since 2010.
STAIRCASE OVERLAY
Timber provides a lighter-weight staircase than concrete does and this is important when you require a tall staircase or winding staircase inside your home. Concrete will place too much strain on your floor and also require additional supports for use in an inside staircase.
FLOOR PREPARATION
Floor surface preparation is the first and most important step for the installation of any flooring. Without proper floor surface preparation, many problems can arise once you install your new flooring system.
If you have ever seen uneven floors, peeling floors, or bubbling floors, it could be because the floor was not prepped properly. Every surface needs to be cleaned, open, and porous for proper floor installation.
FLOOR SEALING & COATING
If you have a timber or slate floor, you’ll understand the importance of making sure it is properly sealed. Floor sealing stops moisture from penetrating the floor’s surface, prevents rotting or warping in timber floors, and stops cracking in porous slate floors. Floor coating is the last step in the installation process, helping to protect your flooring from dirt, moisture and everyday wear and tear. It also creates a beautiful, lustrous look while reducing the amount of maintenance your floor will require in the long term.
MORE ABOUT OUR SERVICES
TIMBER INSTALLATION
Our installation method will be dependent on the type of flooring you have selected and also on the material and condition of the existing subfloor.
Three ways of installing timber floors:
•Secret nails (with the existence of Tongue & Grove)
•Gluing
•Using the click system
The timeframe required will vary from one project to another but we will strive to get you the best results with minimal disruption to your daily routine.
FLOORING RESTORATION
We have the experience and the know-how to get your timber floors right. We can make your floors come alive and be the beautiful feature you deserve in your home. You’ll be thrilled with the results. Another feature we offer is Waterborne Finishes. When you choose non-toxic waterborne finishes it is not necessary to move out of your home to avoid annoying fumes and these products have far less of an impact on the environment. Waterborne finishes provide excellent wear resistance, are non-yellowing and bring out the real beauty of timber flooring- without the usual odours associated with solvent-based polyurethanes.
STAIRCASE OVERLAY
Essentially, stair overlays are perfect for the homeowner who wants a different type of flooring on their stairs without rebuilding the entire structure. Our experts can remove carpet, the most common material, from stairs, revealing the concrete or particleboard underneath. Then, they can replace it with timber.
This gives it the appearance of being built as a wooden staircase, but it also will have the foundation of solid concrete for reliability. A timber overlay helps a homeowner create the look of living in a newer home. It leads to a cleaner design with more defined lines, and the stain colour chosen for the timber can tie into other wooden elements in the home. Overall, stair overlays lead to better design in a home. They are an easy way to update the home and make it feel crisp and on-trend.
FLOOR PREPARATION
In preparation for the subfloor is required we provide excellent floor preparation services. This may include:
•Levelling works to the concrete subfloor with self-levelling concrete paste.
•Applying a damp-proof membrane or sealing the concrete subfloor.
•Applying soundproof membrane to timber subfloors.
The time and cost to complete this preparatory stage will be determined once we commence the installation job. Upon completion, we will ensure all mess and rubbish will be removed, leaving your home clean and tidy.
FLOOR SEALING &. COATING
Each timber floor has its unique appeal and deserves the best possible protective surface. The choice and application of the finishing coats will impact presentation & wear of the completed floor. To get the result you want, make sure you look at different coating samples and talk to a knowledgeable timber flooring consultant who can provide the best advice on the best coating system for your needs.
We use three different types of sealing and coating products.
1. Waterborne Polyurethane
Waterborne coatings tend to develop colours that are closer to the original tones in the timber. They contain only about a quarter of the toxic chemicals in comparison to solvent-based finishes which is considerably better for your family and the environment.
2. Solvent Based Polyurethane
The high build glass look of this coating forms a protective layer of plastic across the timber surface. This finish has been in the market for many years and offers the highest level of gloss obtainable.
3. Hard Wax Oil
Oil-based coatings are gaining interest as an alternative finish with its own niche. Oil finishes penetrate into the timber whereas other finishes sit on top of the timber. The result is a more rustic and true timber finish with the colour darkening a little as compared to other finishes.
