FAQ’s for Fine Line Tattoo

How much do you charge?

I price my work based on intricacy of design, size, and placement. My appointment minimum is currently $100. I am happy to discuss a range you can expect to pay once you complete the booking form and I have more information about what you are looking for.

What if I don’t know what I want?

I have all my available flash designs in the story highlights of my Instagram page. I am happy to do custom designs as long as they match my art style and you are not requesting an exact copy of another artists work. Feel free to send it but I will customize it. I prefer to work in black ink, but offer red and blue ink on occasion.

What is your deposit policy?

I require an $50 deposit per person receiving a tattoo. You will receive payment instructions immediately after booking your appointment. The deposit goes towards the final price of your tattoo. Deposits are non-refundable, but you can reschedule up to 48 hours before your appointment without forfeiting your deposit. Any reschedule within 48 hours of your appointment is subject to full forfeit of your deposit. If you cancel your appointment without a rescheduled date and are not in contact with me, you may also forfeit your full deposit.

What payment methods do you accept?

I accept credit/debit card, Zelle, Venmo, PayPal or cash as payment options. I also offer Afterpay.

How do I prepare for my appointment?

Gently exfoliate and moisturize your skin for a few days leading up to your appointment. Come to your appointment clean, hydrated, and on time. Avoid drinking alcohol for 12 hours before you get your tattoo. Alcohol can jeopardize the healing process of your fresh tattoo. Other additives to avoid prior to a tattoo appointment include over the counter painkillers and high amounts of coffee.
Be prepared to sit for an extended period of time so make sure you’ve eaten a proper meal or snack so you don’t get lightheaded or pass out.

What do fine line tattoos feel like?

The feeling is typically less painful and uncomfortable than traditional tattoos with heavy lines and shading. Sensation varies from person to person, but my clients often describe the feeling as therapeutic and I have even had some fall asleep during our session.

How do I care for my tattoos?

I will give you a brief care summary after we wrap up your appointment, and send you home with an aftercare ointment.

How do fine-line tattoos age?

All tattoos fade and disperse in the skin over time. Fine-line tattoos may appear lighter as they age due to delicate line-work and less ink saturation. How your tattoo heals will mostly depend on your commitment to after-care. During our appointment, I will provide recommendations for size and placement dependent on your design to ensure the best chance of long-term healing. I take a lot of pride in my work and I want you to love it forever! If I believe your design is best suited for another artist, I’m happy to give you some recommendations.

TATTOO AFTERCARE

Instructions:

1 After getting a tattoo, we will cover it with a bandage. Leave this covering on 3-5 days. This helps protect the tattoo from bacteria and promotes healing. After 5 days, remove the Tegaderm by carefully peeling or rolling it off of your skin. Do not quickly tear it off, as this can cause skin irritation. The easiest way to soften the adhesive is to stand in a hot shower for several minutes and remove the covering in the shower.

2 When bandage comes off, with clean hands, gently wash your tattoo with lukewarm water and mild, fragrance-free soap to remove any ointment, blood, or plasma. Avoid scrubbing or using abrasive materials, as they can damage the tattoo.

3 Gently pat your tattoo dry with a clean tissue or let it air dry. Then, apply a thin layer of tattoo-specific ointment recommended by your tattoo artist. This helps keep the area moisturized and protected.

4 It's important not to pick, scratch, or peel the scabs or flakes that form on your tattoo. Let them naturally slough off during the healing process to prevent scarring or color loss.

5 Moisturize regularly: apply a thin layer of tattoo-friendly moisturizer to your tattooed skin. Choose a fragrance-free and gentle moisturizer, and apply it several times a day to keep the area hydrated.

6 Protect from the sun: avoid exposing your healing tattoo to direct sunlight or tanning beds. UV rays can fade the tattoo and damage the healing skin. If you need to be in the sun, cover the tattoo with clothing or use broad-spectrum sunscreen with a high SPF.

7 Avoid soaking or swimming: during the initial healing period, avoid soaking your tattoo in water. This includes swimming pools, hot tubs, saunas, or prolonged baths. Submerging the tattoo can lead to infection or color fading.

8 Wear loose and breathable clothing: Opt for loose-fitting and breathable clothing over your tattooed area during the healing process. Tight or abrasive clothing can irritate the tattoo and hinder the healing process.

9 Avoid excessive sweating and physical activities: Minimize activities that cause excessive sweating or put strain on your tattooed area. Intense physical activities can disrupt the healing process and increase the risk of infection.

10 Follow your artist's instructions: Every tattoo artist may have specific aftercare instructions based on their techniques or style. Listen carefully to advice and follow instructions for the best possible healing outcome.

Remember, proper aftercare plays a crucial role in the healing and long-term appearance of your tattoo. If you have any concerns or notice signs of infection, consult your tattoo artist or a healthcare professional for guidance.
