While ismatu gwendolyn may currently be best known for their face, voice, and opinions circulating across short-form video, their artistry expands far outside TikTok and Instagram. ismatu pursues modeling, writing, and organizing amidst public health as means of liberation. Belonging to communities across US Black America and Sierra Leone, they state consistently that they are “a papier-mâché pieces of those that love them.” Everything they do is to make their namesakes proud, to sleep well at night, and to have a life worth living with their cat, Lemon.
