Maikaʻi Kauaʻi, hemolele i ka mālie.
Beautiful Kauaʻi, peaceful in the calm.

Jamilee was born on the island of Kauaʻi in it’s capital city of Līhuʻe. She spent her childhood running around her family taro patches of Hanalei and swimming in the ocean at Poʻipū Beach. She is the oldest daughter of James and Shanlee, sister to Ashlee, and Aunty to Kian James, Saydee Rose, and Dayden.

Before working for the Liliʻuokalani Trust as a Resource Specialist, Jamilee taught elementary school for eight years in private and charter schools on Kauaʻi. Jamilee is well-qualified as she holds a M.Ed in Child Development from the Chaminade University of Honolulu and a B.S. in Family Resources from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. She is a former member of the UH Rainbow Wahine Track and Field team and still holds a spot on the Top 10 performance lists for the 60-meter dash and long jump.

Jamilee has always been active in the community and is currently the Head Coach for the Kauaʻi High School Track and Field team. She sits on the Public Relations Committee and Supervisory Commitees of the Kauaʻi Federal Credit Union. She is also a member of Daughters of Hawaiʻi.

She has traveled to Peru, New Zealand, and Australia; and would like to visit places like Germany, Italy, Puerto Rico and Japan. She likes the simple things in life including iced caramel lattes, diving into a good book, and napping with her French Bulldog Harlow. She also has a passion for vintage muʻumuʻu. Believe it or not, Jamilee has over 100 muʻumuʻu in her collection. You can see some of her collection during #muumuumonth every January!

Mu’u at the Museum —

To honor Queen Emma’s 188th birthday we’re celebrating Muʻumuʻu Month with our 3rd annual Muʻu at the Museum! This year’s theme of “Where East Meets West” draws its inspiration from the Great Chinese Merchants’ Ball of 1856. The evening fundraiser will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 5 PM to 9 PM at Hānaiakamalama–the Queen Emma Summer Palace. Proceeds from this event will support the historic preservation, maintenance and operations of the Palace and grounds. Heavy pūpū and specialty cocktails will be available as well as a few other surprises throughout the event.
