“Bproud was established with the goal of inspiring people to be proud of their culture, ethnicity, sexuality, and gender identity.

We are the founders of Bproud, and our names are Japhety Ngabireyimana and Jospin Mugisha. We left our home in a refugee camp in Africa to come to America at the age of seven and five. Our parents fled war-torn Burundi in search of a better life in America. Little did they realize that we would then face the biggest challenges of my life; learning a new language, learning how to fit into a new culture, and adjusting to the expectations that come with being an African in America.”
