About

Homemaker • Homeschooler

Hey everyone.

I'm Jenn. A 33 year old mama of three ginger girls, whose married to her high-school sweetheart.

My family and I start homeschooling when a lot of families did in March 2020. Online learning was not for us, we unschooled the remainder of the year and made a commitment to start our journey in September. We haven't looked back.

During 2020, I also discovered another passion of mine, being a homemaker. Ain't no shame in a mama loving up on her family, taking care of her home and everything in between.

We live a low-tox, making most things from scratch, organic lifestyle. We all enjoy traveling and glamping all summer long.

Check out our family's Amazon Storefront. I'll do my best to keep this updated with things our family uses. From homeschool must-haves, indoor gardening tools, traveling needs, and everything in between.

Well, the time has coming once again my friends and many of us homeschooling families will be hitting the books once again in the next few weeks.

Here are some tips that I have used to help us transition back into our homeschool routine.

Remember your 'whys' as you head back to your homeschool year and may this be your best year yet 🤍 Happy Homeschooling!

#1

Ease back into it. While I'm sure some folks would like to pick up where we left off, our family really enjoys a slower pace while we get back to our routine. We have a lot of outdoor time with lots of breaks.

#2

Have a plan. While I typically make our schedule for our homeschool day, this year our family is using @amblesideonline so our schedule has already been made for us 🥳

#3

Give yourself and your children a little grace. Changing schedules can be difficult, just remember your reason for homeschool is likely more than a different type of education, it's likely also about having beautiful relationship with your children.

#4

Make it fun. Maybe you'll be learning about dinosaurs this year, perhaps you'll be learning about Greek history, make it fun by heading out on a field trip to make your start that much more fun.

Ask you kids what their favorite part is. —

we're asking the kids what their favorite thing about homeschooling is... Here are my kiddos responses, unedited. Ava (13): "I like how we go on field trips, we get to see and do the things public school kids never have the chance to" Allie (10): "I like how it's short and there are things that kids in school have to do that I don't have to do" Paisley (9): "umm, it's probably meeting all the new people in our homeschool group and Champ" I love these answers, they are simple and things I often overlook. Ask your kids today what their favorite thing about homeschooling is, maybe their answers will be just what you need to hear today. Be sure to share their responses in the comments, I can't wait to see what they say!
