Jenny Sung
Be TheraCreative
Hello, my name is Jenny. I came from an impoverished background with the ideology “eat everything on the plate, don’t waste food.” I worked since the age of 14. I had minimum knowledge in correct exercise methods. On busy days with non stop work and school, I would eat potato chips as my breakfast, a bag of Hershey Kisses as my lunch and breakfast at Denny’s as my late dinner. I developed severe eczema and allergies. I had one friend who pointed I looked unhealthy and underweight when I though it was normal for a young, tiny Asian girl to look like that. I didn’t know how skinny I was until a decade or so later when I looked back at my photos.
So fast forward, I got married, graduated with Master of Occupational Therapy, and focused in Hand Therapy. I started to cook since I no longer lived with my parents and I tried being a good wife. I eliminated a lot of artificial sugars and fast food and started notice something… my allergies and eczema/dermatitis symptoms have reduced significantly! As my career was blossoming and I was lucky to have surrounded by so many talented therapists, I have learned the physiological and psychological effects of exercise. I focused more on my well being. I started therapeutic exercises. Infelt more energetic, more focused, less nerve tension, less joint aches, and best of well, less mental stress.
I now have two lovable, young ninjas as my addition to the family 🥷🏻🥷🏻 (and a borderline teacup yorkie called Ramen, named after my favorite college food). Although I gained a lot of knowledge in fitness and therapy through my career, it is my munchkins who inspired me to continue staying healthy and fit. I want to share with everyone that it is possible…no matter how busy your work or personal life is, you can achieve the impossibles. It does not require to perform 3 sets of 10 repetitions to achieve your fitness goals. Be therapeutic. Be creative. Be TheraCreative.
