Good Days Therapy

Jessica Munoz-Simmons, LMFT

Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Jessica, and I am a licensed marriage & family therapist in California. I welcome you to a space where understanding, empathy, and growth intersect.

About Me

I have been a practicing psychotherapist since 2016, and became licensed in 2022.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in sociology from Cal State Long Beach, and a master’s degree in clinical psychology at Antioch University in Los Angeles. During my graduate school years, I worked as a school-based therapist for middle and high school-aged students diagnosed with developmental disabilities, running groups and facilitating individual therapy sessions. Since then, I have worked in non-profit organizations, group private practices, and community mental health centers, working with young children, adolescents, and adults, both in-person and virtually.

I have dedicated my career to supporting BIPOC individuals on their healing journeys. My therapeutic philosophy centers around holistic well-being, the power of self-discovery, and utilizing personal empowerment. I provide an inclusive space for people of color, particularly women and non-binary people of color, as well as LGBTQ+ individuals, and those that intersect with both.

Utilizing exposure response prevention (ERP), person-centered therapy, & psychodynamic therapy, I specialize in working with BIPOC individuals who have been diagnosed or self-diagnosed with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), generalized anxiety, major depression, and social anxiety.

I believe in meeting clients exactly where they are in their healing journey as well as providing
culturally competent care with some vulnerability and humor.

I identify as a queer/bisexual cisgender woman. I grew up with a Filipina mother and an African-American father, and am beyond proud of both cultures as a biracial person. I am a Los Angeles native who enjoys indie music, improv comedy shows, true crime documentaries, traveling as much as I can, and spending time with my friends and family. I got married in early 2023 and welcomed my first child, my daughter Maya, in September 2023.
