The Hamsa is also a symbol that is said to protect against the Evil Eye, warding off all potentially negative forces. This was traced back as the earliest use of the Hamsa symbol.

A Hamsa facing downwards stands for abundance and prosperity. A Hamsa facing upwards acts as a talisman to protect against evilness and unwanted energy.

Meaning In Jewish Faiths:
The Hamsa symbol is used to represent the hand of God, “The Hand of Miriam.” Miriam was the sister of Moses and Aron.
Miriam lived an honorable life, leading her to become a symbol of protection and luck.

Hebrew Meaning:
Hamsa is the Hebrew word for five. Some believe that this symbol represents the five fingers on the talisman, and others believe that this symbolizes the five books of the Torah.
