As the story goes, between 1880 and 1940 Lamarck University was thriving with both the children of wealthy locals and the children of colonial residents. In the 1940s the University was closed, mothballed, and stood still in time. A number of the buildings were lost and all of it fell into disrepair. Luckily, Sun Group saw the potential and commission ed the world-famous architect Bill Bensley to return the site to its former glory, this time in the form of Phu Quoc’s most elegant international five-star hotel – the JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort & Spa!
