"A space to reflect and reconnect"
Experiencing anxiety, low mood, uncertainty, loss and grief are what it is to be human. It can be helpful when going through these difficult times to have a confidential, safe space to share your difficulties, concerns or anything that matters to you without the fear of being judged.
Counselling can help you to process your emotions, explore your situation to gain a better insight into what you are going through and provide you with tools to approach life with more balance and peace.
Counselling does not need to be accessed solely during times of feeling low and overwhelmed. It is healthy to have a space where you can discuss how you are feeling, gain a better understanding of yourself and work towards self-improvement and self-development.
About me
Hi and welcome!
I am a qualified psychotherapist offering counselling and psychotherapy to adults and young people aged 16+, online, by telephone and face to face in Sutton, Surrey.
I facilitate short term (6-12 sessions) and long term (open-ended) therapy, as well as single session therapy.
I have a particular expertise in working with issues related to identity. I have extensive experience working with individuals wanting to explore their experience of Autism and/ or ADHD, cultural identity and sexuality.
I believe in a holistic approach to health and wellbeing, taking into account all of our being - psychological, cultural, physical, social and spiritual.
I work in a way that is gentle, warm and holding. I endeavour to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for you to talk through the experiences you are facing.
My approach
I offer an integrative-relational approach to counselling and psychotherapy. An integrative approach refers to my ability to draw from a variety of theoretical models and ideas to support my therapeutic interventions, depending on what your needs may be. Working relationally means that I prioritise our therapeutic relationship as the heart of our work to create change and growth.
The theoretical models and ideas that I draw on in my work include an intercultural approach, person-centred theory, spirituality, mindfulness, CBT and coaching.
I work collaboratively to ensure that you have the choice and autonomy in deciding the content, pace and depth of our work together.
Areas that I work with include:
- Cultural identity
- Autism
- ADHD
- Gender identity
- Sexuality
- Bereavement
- Loss
- Fertility
- Low mood
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Stress
- Self-development
- Relationship/ family issues
- Low self-esteem
- Chronic illness
What to expect during your initial session
It can feel daunting starting therapy; unsure of what the various therapeutic approaches mean, which therapist best meets your needs and not knowing how many sessions you require. Together we can discuss any questions or concerns you may have to enable you to make the best choice for you.
Our initial session provides an opportunity to meet one another, discuss what has brought you to therapy and for you to experience my way of working.
We will discuss what you hope to gain from therapy, explore the areas you would like to focus on and discuss the contract and practical aspects of working together.
Should you decide to proceed with therapy, our sessions would take place on a weekly or fortnightly basis, on the same day and at the same time.
Single Session Therapy
As well as offering short term and long term therapy, I also offer single session therapy.
Single Session Therapy may be for you if:
- You have never experienced counselling before and are curious about its potential benefits
- You are wanting the space to talk about what is going on for you without the commitment of weekly/ fortnightly sessions
- You want a space to offload and be heard with a trained professional
- You are currently on the waiting list for longer-term therapy and want to receive support in the interim
Fees
Initial sessions are £40.
Subsequent sessions are £55 during the day (before 5pm) and £60 during the evening (after 5pm).
All sessions last 50 minutes.
Single Session Therapy:
My fee is £90 per session. Sessions last 1 hour 15 minutes.
