Katence Virginia Holland

Photography

Katence Holland (b. 2004) grew up in a small town in California named Norco. Her grandfather was a photographer and introduced young Kate into the world of arts. Since childhood, she has been taking photos of anything and everything. This website accurately displays Kate’s growth and journey of her photography portfolio.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Kate has always been taking photos, shes always had a camera in her hands since she was a toddler. Photography isn’t her only medium though, painting and digital art was her main passion for a lot of her life. Half way through high school, she decided that her passion for photography was just different then the other media’s. Creating these photos made people guess and assume things about her work, and she liked that. The element of an unknown background made it a puzzle to figure out her work. Today, she is still finding her style in photography and will continue to experiment with lightings, moods and colors.

Let Go Before They Question

“Let Go Before They Question” is the first finished piece of Kate’s sustained investigation. Her topic is “growing up”. Kate’s point of this investigation is to discuss the teenage years, what’s glorified and what’s hidden within them. Hopefully, viewers will find comfort in her work due to relatable aspects of her work. Or, these works might bring new perspectives of teenagers growing up today.
