I grew up in a healthy, active family so I was always “in shape”. After I left home for at 18, I did the gap year thing & started college, which started my bad habits: I gained about 60 pounds in 3 years. That all brought along bad eating habits, bad boyfriends, no sleep, caffeine, all nighters, drinking, etc. isn’t college fun? Haha 😛
I lost the weight over the next 6 years by just eating better and staying semi-active. Not really ever working out. Fast forward to getting pregnant with my 1st babe 3 months after my wedding, and the weight came with my pregnancy. No matter what, I got heavy. I gained about 85 pounds. Over the next 2.5 years, I lost about 60 by just changing what I ate and chasing around a toddler all day.
With my 2nd pregnancy, I gained 100+ pounds. After she was born I vowed to get myself back into shape and to find me again.
There wasn’t any “moment” for me, it was moreso me being sick and tired of being sick and tired. Coming to the realiziation I won’t get what I want by sitting on my bum.
In 5 years, I’ve gained and lost a total of 134 pounds. I’ve learned to quit making excuses and being lazy in my health journey. I’ve learned to love myself and became more confident in my body.
Which is WHY I created my Insta account - to not just keep myself accountable, but to hopefully inspire other Mamas that they’re worthy of honoring their bodies as well. ✌💁🏼♀️ 🤍
