A piece created in spring, when the new leaves are bright green and optimistic buds peep above the fronds and ferns towards the warm sunshine. Available in three different sizes.

Blues Collection

Collections are central to my work and although collecting butterflies is thankfully an outdated pastime, the concept of butterflies seen together or observed during a day out was the inspiration for this piece. All the butterflies are blue, some rare, some common and all were taken from a butterfly book I found in a junk shop.

Cornish Flower Garden (Limited Edition Print)

The second of my flower garden pieces, the beautiful blue flowers found in the South West of England were the starting point for this painting. The colour blue is dominant, and reminiscent of the blue stripes pottery which originated there. Agapanthus, Clover, blue grass, Pagoda flowers and water pimpernel plus garlic buds and of course forget-me-not are just some of the flowers used. An 1809 map of Cornwall softly blends into the flowers’ backdrop.

Sweet Shop (Limited Edition Print)

This painting was based on traditional sweet shops, which I discovered in towns such as Henley on Thames, Whitby, Brighton and Pateley Bridge in Yorkshire, which is home to the oldest sweet shop in England. Four shelves of deliciously detailed jars are filled with popular favourites, and the text and collaged images in the background are relevant to the sweets within.

Washing Line

An eclectic mix of clothes, socks and shoes hang in charming jumble of pink, blue and green. Odd socks, pink bras and a solitary pair of ballet flats add to a sense of hectic but cosy family life.

View of Henley Bridge 1

Henley bridge seen on a clear, crisp day towards the end of summer. The Angel on the Bridge sits in the distance at the end of the well-worn path towards the festivals and Henley Royal Regatta. Lush trees and distant boat houses are viewed from a distance over clear waters.

A perfect spot to watch the rowing...Temple Island, Henley on Thames. Dappled sunlight and fresh green foliage viewed over the reflections on the river as the rowers speed past.

Blenheim Palace 1 (Limited Edition Print)

Blenheim is a magical place to visit all year round; the buildings are stunning and the park is filled with epic trees, animals and little surprises like the butterfly house. A scene with warm low sunlight across the towers and turrets.

St Ives 4 (Limited Edition Print)

Part of the ‘St Ives Seascapes’ series, this piece is inspired by the eponymous town by the sea. Painted with the palette of vintage postcards, the view is bright and clear as if remembering a perfect day by the seaside in the window of your mind.

Sardines

The year I sailed the Atlantic we set off from Southampton and reached Calais, our first stop en route to Lanzarote. ‘Sardines’ (available in 57 varieties) was the culmination of that journey; whether sailing through a storm, making earl grey tea, or watching the hundreds of blue flying fish that flew by our side. Made from recycled materials.

Cornish Lobster

Natural form has always been a source of inspiration; flowers, seeds, shells and other natural objects all feature in Kirsten’s work. The vibrant red of the Cornish lobster was all it took for inspiration to strike. Sea creatures of many kinds can be found throughout my work.

Sardines (Blue and White)

Sardines are such a beautiful fish; they sparkle as they swim and you can’t avoid the fact that they are really quite delicious on a beach barbecue! The silvery scales meant that these three perfect fish were almost camouflaged by the reflected patterns of my favourite plate.
