Dear You,
Creating space for an empowering motherhood & womanhood
An open letter:
Dear Mom,
You wouldnt sleep until I was home from my night shifts in highschool. I thought you were overreacting, I get it now...
I'd wake in the middle of the night with you by my side praying, I get it now...
You'd tell me I'm a smart, beautiful black darkskin girl everyday, I get it now...
You'd tell me that I'm not less than because of the color of my skin, I get it now...
You always told me to work twice as hard, I get it now....
You'd tell me to be proud of what makes me different, I get it now...
You'd tell me that life isn't fair, but never give up... I get it now ❤
