KoffyKraft
A passion for coffee roasting drives me
Good coffee are not cheap, Nor are they easily sourced.
But when we begin our amateur journey, all that is irrelevant and only for future consideration, if ever!
KoffyKraft was an accident
I'd love to share how I began my journey.
( Feel free to swipe to the next page if you are looking for coffees )
I had attended a Kaapi Shastra training at the Indian Coffee Board, Bangalore in 2019 to learn nuances of cold brewing.
Or that was the excuse I told myself!
Curiously, I came back with a deeper interest in coffee roasting. I do not want to bore you with three years of coffee roasting experiences, so let's just say that I like roasting coffees.
I use an ancient cast iron drum roaster bought from Bangalore. Refurbished, and fitted with a couple of temperature probes, this rudimentary roaster had helped me to learn.
And in today's world of fully automatic profile roasters, my gas fired drum can seem quite prehistoric.
But I love it all the same, and I learn better every time.
I have identified a few good coffee farms, and i am currently roasting just these few coffees.
On the next pages I hope you will find a coffee you may be curious to try.
Have fun !
Washed Koffees
This season I am offering you washed coffees.
It is useful to understand the basic quality and taste profile of an estate and a region.
This will help us to understand our own taste preferences.
Afterwards we could also explore deeper, looking at the individual estates in the region(s) we liked.
I believe washed coffees offer such an opportunity. The naturally processed and honey process beans will offer special tastes, built upon the inherent character of the original bean.
And I would like to begin my own roasting journey with offerings of a few excellent washed coffees.
