During a YouTube binge, I came across Shantae Shand's video on her college application journey, in which she highlighted Yale Young Global Scholars. I promptly turned to Google to look up my new endeavor. I was instantly fascinated after going over the website.

Summer arrived, and the application season began. I swiftly completed the areas requiring minimal work in one sitting. But, my nightmares were disturbed by the essay component, which is usually my favorite. Each question compelled me to divulge my deepest secrets offering them on a hefty plate for others to read.

I applied shortly after finishing the essays and financial details. Waiting was tedious since I had become so engrossed in school that it had slipped my mind. The big day has arrived! Hurrah! I was admitted. I read the letter amid my joyous squeals, dismayed that I could still not afford the program. Fortunately, I requested further funding due to exceptional events, and it was accepted. Now, I was a full-fledged Yale Young Global Scholar. I implore everyone reading this to apply. Even if you are not accepted, the prompts and experience will encourage you to think critically and prepare you for college application season
