Thanks for stopping by & taking time to read a little bit about me!

Firstly, I grew up in Toronto, Canada & moved to California after high school in 2010 to attend college.
In 2015, I graduated from UC Irvine with a BA in Sociology. I always knew I wanted to be a lawyer since high school. However, instead of going straight to law school after undergrad, I decided to take a gap year (actually more like 7 years) to gain real life work experience.

Fast forward to the beginning of this year - Feeling lost & unfulfilled, I knew in my heart i had to make changes in my life to make room for my own personal growth.
With no exact plan B, I took a leap of faith and quit my good paying job to take some time off for myself & focus on pursuing my dreams of becoming a lawyer. Hence, I started my IG @lawwithjackie to use as a daily “law log”/personal blog to hold myself accountable with my lsat studies, document my journey from 0L to law school & connect with other aspiring female lawyers.

Lastly, in the words of Michelle Obama: “There is no limit to what we, as women, can accomplish.” Inspired by this quote, I hope by documenting my own journey to becoming a First-gen lawyer one day, it can inspire & empower other females to pursue their dreams & not settle for less. If I can do it, you ladies can too!
