About
Model, Creative Consultant, Stylist
Leigh Shoemaker is a stylist, creative consultant, and model, who has been in the New York fashion industry for the past 19 years. Leigh, originally from British Columbia Canada, was signed to Ford Models and Wilhemina Models in the early 2000s, where she worked towards changing the concepts of body image and beauty. She is continuously inspired and happy to witness and take part in the changes within the fashion and beauty industry to include a diverse array of women.
Her creative consulting career began in at Narnia Vintage, a resource for stylists and designers, as well as a pioneering vintage clothing store that was based in the Lower East Side. From there she worked for INANYC and Oroboro, and freelanced for CaronCallahan and Lauren Manoogian. Working with these companies has given her expert knowledge of luxury womenswear, menswear, handbags, jewelry, shoes, fit, and the overall competitive shopping landscape. This experience led her into styling where her expertise include on-figure and still life. She regularly freelances as backstage production with DIZON INC. during New York Fashion Week.
Her personal style, coupled with her love of vintage clothing, accessories, homewares, and health & beauty brands has made her the subject of several online publications, including Refinery29 and I Want To Be Her, as well as being featured in the book ‘The Cool Factor’ by Andrea Linett. It has also led to her recent partnership with the beauty brand Beautycounter.
Leigh is currently working as a freelance Costume Department stylist, as a designer, BG costumer and Truck Supervisor for various film, tv, and commercial productions in NYC and Canada.
