I have struggled with figuring out how to cope physically, mentally + emotionally throughout the years. At age 5 I was diagnosed with depression, anxiety + OCD. I grew up playing hockey, volleyball + soccer -- which was the only thing that kept me going. I struggled with negative self-talk, suicide, mental illnesses + eating. I weighed 105 LBS in high school and in my first few years in college. At one point I went under 100 LBS because I just wasn’t eating. When I was a junior in high school I suffered a severe concussion that left me unable to play sports ever again - it also changed my future plans of college hockey. The same week I suffered my concussion, I endured a trauma that broke me in a way I didn’t know was possible.
I finally realized I needed a change after I put on 40 LBS, hated my body + didn’t want to be here anymore. I knew that no matter how much I hated myself + my life, nothing was going to magically change unless I made a change.
2 years ago I signed up for these in-home workouts. My first program was 21 days, 30 minutes a day. I lost 9 LBS but more importantly I was starting to believe in myself. 2 years later + I still push play because not only has it helped me maintain a healthy body but it allows me to cope with my mental illnesses daily along with personally growing into a stronger person every day!✨
