Clean Beauty is a Lifestyle
Ever since I was a little girl my parents would always tell me “when someone tells you, you can’t do something. You prove it to them that you can!”
If you’re like me you might of done something similar. After high school I was not motivated to go to college or to have that “college dream” everyone tells you about when your younger. I just didn’t have a plan. I didn’t know what career I wanted. I just DID NOT KNOW!
But what I did know is that I wanted to be close to home and family. So I ended up going to a Community College less than 5 mins away from my house.
Fast forward three years I transferred to a four-year University that was less than 10 minutes away from home. I still didn’t know what career I wanted so I bit the bullet and tried Kinesiology. Well, one year into school I ended up failing out. I put the work in, I showed up for class, and I did everything they asked of me as a student. I soon began to realize that school just wasn’t for me. I realized that I wasn’t going to be like my sisters or my close friends that did the traditional route. AND THATS OKAY!
While I was in college my Dad would ask me “Sam, what’s your niche? Sam, what do you want to do with your life?” I’d reply with, “I don’t know. I like fitness, I like cooking, and I like beauty & wellness.” He’d reply “well those aren’t really career life choices. They could be but you’d be working long hours with nothing to really show for it.”
So, while I was STILL trying to figure out what my niche was. I tried nannying, I tried bartending, I tried nursing, I tried helping my mom with her real estate job, and I tried to be a life insurance agent. I tried all of these jobs because I was told from little on that I would NOT be successful unless I had a Bachelors Degree.
First of all, no I do not think you need a Bachelors Degree to be successful. I mean, it helps sure. But it’s not a necessity. Second of all, I firmly believe that if you have a good work ethic and the drive to make it happen. The sky is the limit! So far I’ve never had a set plan that actually worked out in my favor. I would ask myself “well why hasn’t anything worked out?” Honestly, it’s because I was trying to appease others and not myself. I did what my parents wanted me to do. Not what I wanted to do. I never had the courage to stand up for myself and take charge of what Sam wanted...
Until now and man does it feel good! I’m so incredibly grateful and happy that I took this leap into the unknown. Into a future of bright possibilities, for true happiness, and bliss!
