I have been a stay at home mom (SAHM) for over two years and I’m always thinking of new hobbies and/or business ideas. However, I never fully commit to something or give myself time to fully explore the possibilities. And let’s be real. At the end of the day the last thing I want to do is learn something new and end up throwing money at a hobby/craft that I won’t end up finishing ( at least anytime soon). Then Livin’ Loud came to mind. Enter my husband, Calvin (Cal).

Cal was home for paternal leave when we brought our second child home. Our house was a bit chaotic but none the less filled with joy. During Cal’s time home I was working on a shirt for a family member and nothing was going smoothly. I typical can make my daughter a shirt in a few seconds but this shirt was giving me trouble. As I’m fretting working on this shirt and still on my idea kick, I thought I should personalize shirts on a larger scale. Not letting my struggle deter me. I thought of a cute name, fun, simple, modern designs and without question thought I’d be using earth tones only. I’m a huge fan of earth tones. But as I did more research and looked at the currently market I saw that there was predominately neutral and simple clothing for children and families but a lack of creativity and fun; the Cal appeal.

Cal is not about earth tones he likes to make a statement and to stand out. He is bright, bold and hilarious. I began to think, “what if Cal was a shirt?” He would not be earth tones. He would be bright and fun. Not that I’m not fun but there is a time and place. Cal is always fun. So I thought more like Cal and that’s how LIVE LOUD Clothing was born. Clothes that spark joy and are meant to be lived in. Embracing the stains, ripes and tears from living our lives. We want our apparel to be as colorful as you but most importantly lived in.
