I’ve always been a lover of a manicure. So when we first went into lockdown I made the decision to purchase a Gel Nail Kit so that I could continue to give myself a pamper from home.
It’s such a quick and easy way of giving yourself a little pick-me-up. And if, like me, you tend to treat yourself fortnightly to new nails, the cost of the kit pays for itself after the first few applications.
Follow these simple steps and you’ll be flashing that new mani in no time!
1. Make sure your hands are clean and dry. Use a nail file to gently shape them and give them a little buff with a buffing block (if you’ve got one) too.
2. Wipe your nails down with some lint free wipes and a prep solution.
3. Apply a base coat to the entire nail and then cure using an LED or UV light for the specified time.
4. Apply your preferred colour and then cure. I’ve found it’s better to use really thin coats and build up the colour, so remember that less is more.
5. Apply a top coat and cure this as well (specific curing times will depend on your lamp). Once they’re cured, wipe them down with another lint free wipe and some Prep & Polish Wipe until the tacky layer is removed.
5. Finish off with your favourite cuticle oil and voila!! Beaut nails that won’t chip after two seconds 😅
I purchased my entire kit from the Mylee website, but there are plenty of other options out there. Just make sure you do your research and ensure you follow the instructions carefully 💕
