Every day is a brush stroke, make life a masterpiece ✨️
Liz Getler, New Jersey based artist, is a self defined scrumbling expressionist. She creates obscure, playing, and oddly cropped artworks. Liz's work is inspired by people, mental health, humor, and oddities. "I like weird and ugly compositions splashed with bold color."
Growing up surrounded by an artistic family, Liz scribbled, colored, and painted every moment she could. She excelled in her art classes and tried every craft. Going on to study studio and fine art at Camden County College Liz begins to explore into sculpture, ink drawings, and multiple media arts.
Liz spends her time with her two loves, Mike Testa and Mimi the bird. You'll often find her at home gardening and by Big Timber Creek drawing "One day, I decided to draw something every day." She comments with pen and scretch book in hand, "I make art for me. Drawing like no one is watching."
Advice from the artist:
"Create as much as possible. Don't worry too much. Keep playing. Ugly, bad, weird, gross art is good art. Try new things, try weird things that don't make sense! In the obscurity of life, we can find ourselves."
