Transitioning to natural hair!! (storytime + tips)
Growing up I had straight and relaxed hair then around 2010 my mother decided to cut my hair & that was the start of my natural hair journey.
It wasn't all roses and good hair days all day, and I eventually grew tired of it because having natural hair is extremely tiring. No one warns you about the numerous products you need and the extensive wash day routines, before you go natural.
9 months ago I made the worst mistake of my life... Relaxing my hair. Why?? I was already stressed with school and exams and I felt like haircare was adding on to that stress, despite having second thoughts about it I went and I did it, however having straight hair was utterly weird and unusual for me and the heat had damaged my hair. I wanted my fro back but I was reluctant on cutting my hair.. So I let the transition process begin.
Transitioning wasn't easy at all, I had to learn to love my hair again for what it is and learn to take better care of it and so far its been OK and my hair is getting healthier and healthier each day and I can't wait to share my transition and daily haircare routines with you.
