On April 1, 2017, Madeforkobina was launched as an online publication celebrating local African artists. About a year later, on February 25th, 2018, Founder, T.Sabi hosted her first public Afro/dance workshops As the workshops became popular, and time passed, the Madeforkobina Collective and Explosion was born. The Explosion is a yearly event in the Washington, DC area with over 10 different Afro/dance instructors coming from across the country. Today, Madeforkobina Collective continues to provide the following services: Afro dance private trainings, virtual workshops, Creative direction and Artist consultation.
