You ain’t ready, the world will never be ready. Some solid points about myself before we begin: I love food, I love to sing and I love my plant babies.
I’m documenting my journey as a new-ish (heavy on the -ish) plant mom and giving you an inside look on my triumphs and failures. Buckle up your planties. We’re going plant shopping.
Plant Babes I Live For
They might not be rare, but they are priceless to me
These “basic” plants have a special place in my heart, they keep my jungle thriving and without them it feels a little empty. Check out the queens who started it all:
Fiddle Leaf Fig
My Fiddle Leaf Fig (aka Ficus Lyrata) was the gateway drug to my plant obsession. She was NEEDY and I kind of dug that. For starter plants I don’t generally recommend her because it can be discouraging when a Fiddle won’t love you. But she was my first real adult-ish plant that I actually took care of. She’s not doing too well at the moment so that’s why I’m sending you vibes of her when she was thriving. I’m still learning and patiently trying to please this QUEEN but I love her regardless of what she looks like. She’s my queen forever.
She famous or whateva. Monstera Deliciosa or Swiss Cheese Plant is a instagram home designer dream plant. And I, as a self proclaimed Instagram home designer, needed to have one. So here we are with one of the most trustiest plants to up your instagame up.
SCINDAPSUS PICTUS ‘ARGYRAEUS’
I often get confused with all the varieties of plants that I sometimes can’t tell the differences between the species but for the sake of everyone (and plant police don’t be so quick to @ me yet) lets just call this one The Silver Pothos. She’s still a queen, velvety and silver splotches that make me go wow PLANTS GROW PRETTY AND STUFF.
